- Shane & Shane live on 08/13/11
Alright so…this weekend was awesome. I took a mini road trip Saturday, 4.5 hours north to see Shane & Shane live for the first time. Since I needed to be home by Sunday morning at 9, I left Saturday morning and made it back Sunday early am, in time to get a few hours of sleep before my alarm rudely awakened me this morning. This might sound a little crazy…to drive so much in one day just to see a concert…but let me explain to you how excited I was to go to this show. Lets just say: 5 year old on Christmas morning, and that pretty much covers it. There’s something about their music…especially their last few records that has been able to meet me where I’m at in every season. Not only are their lyrics strong and harmonies nearly unmatched, but their message always points me in the direction I need to go. So for that, I’m grateful. And because I’m basically a little kid inside, I get all amazed because they’re famous and talented and blah, blah, blah…but I know that’s not their message, and that also makes me respect them even more.
After the show we hung around long enough for a meet and greet, which was a sweet photo opp, but I feel like I could have sat and talked to them for hours…Their message is clear, content is deep, and spirits are humble…So the evening was an encouragement and it was great to spend it with good friends and family. Hope to see them live again soon.

Meet and greet. Happy.
I wrapped the weekend with an eventful couple hours down at my church surrounded by some great people and fun and energetic kids. Not that little kids aren’t people. I’m just saying. I’m reminded of how much I have to be thankful for, and am grateful that I am in a place doing what I’m doing for a reason. Nothing is wasted, and I have what I need…
peace.
